December 31, 2021 – Kewaskum, WI – The Rettler Run is set for Friday, December 31, from noon to 3 p.m.; it will benefit the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial & Education Center.
The event is headed by Pete Rettler, the dean of Moraine Park Technical College’s West Bend Campus, who has not missed a single day of running in almost 28 years.
Rettler began his running streak in 1993 after making a bet with a friend. Since then, Rettler has gone running every day, averaging about 2.5 miles each day. For the past several years, Rettler has celebrated this accomplishment by hosting the Rettler Run to raise funds for a good cause.
On Friday, Dec. 31, Rettler invites you to join him as he crosses the 28-year threshold. Funds raised will be donated to the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial & Education Center to help promote education of the events of 9/11 to students, families and others throughout Wisconsin.
This untimed fun run/walk will begin at the Kewaskum Building Annex, 1308 Fond du Lac Avenue, located directly behind the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial in Kewaskum. Runners/walkers also may participate in the event virtually.
Participants will have the opportunity to win fabulous door prizes, including prizes from Jeff’s Spirits on Main in West Bend and Craftsman tools from Tennies Ace Hardware. There also will be Cousins Subs and Dunn Brothers Coffee. The registration fee is $28. Same-day registration is available.
