Gazebo from Old Settlers Park sold: Kevin and Amy Zimmer are happy to announce a new addition to their family. The couple celebrated the winning bid for the gazebo at Old Settler’s Park located on the triangle of Sixth Avenue and Main Street in West Bend. “I bid $18.45,” said Kevin Zimmer. “I chose that amount because I believe that’s the year West Bend was incorporated.”
The Zimmers are strong supporters of retaining local history. The couple have several options on where they’d like to place the gazebo so the public can enjoy it.
The gazebo will cost several thousand dollars to relocate. The removal of the gazebo has to be finished by Sept. 21 as Old Settlers Park will be undergoing a major remodel.
On a history note, the gazebo was added to the park in 1986 in an area previously known as the O’Meara Triangle. That parcel was originally home to the O’Meara Law Office.
