Bob’s Main Street Auto donates to Wreaths Across America | By Dane J. Olsen

Slinger, Wi – Bob’s Main Street Auto & Towing in West Bend, WI made a kind donation in support of Wreaths Across America. The Allenton Fohl-Martin American Legion Post 483 has been collecting donations as it preps for its wreath-laying program on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 9 a.m.

Below is a story about supporting local veterans from Slinger High School junior Dane Olsen.

I write today to honor the few, the brave, the strong, and the selfless, who gave the ultimate sacrifice physically and mentally. They took upon themselves the ultimate burden of stress and pain so a younger generation could live less troubled lives.

Our freedom didn’t just happen, it was forged through the sacrifices of many. It is the greatest honor for me to bestow wreaths upon the graves of these heroes, who in today’s time are often forgotten.

Despite what some may think, we Americans live in a very respectable society of freedom and happiness, built off of the backs of hard-working men and women.

For those who will be participating in this ceremony of wreath laying, just know that with each wreath you lay, you are remembering these people and appreciating what they have done for our country.

It is up to us to make sure these unsung heroes are never forgotten. Each morning as I stand for the pledge in our school, I take time to remember these heroes, because we are not just pledging to a piece of cloth on a pole, no, we are pledging to the land of the free, the land of the brave, and the land of the heroes.

  1. So proud of my nephew Dane being the lead on this special day of remembrance and I agree, these unsung heros can be easily forgotton with the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Adding those wreaths at our family Rosenheimer made the cemetery look so green and fresh yesterday.
Thank you Dane for writing the article and thank you Bob’s, Zuerns and our wonferful American Legion POST!
