Trev Timblin of Fredonia is the lucky winner of $3.0 million from the October 22 Megabucks drawing. The winning numbers from Saturday, October 22 were 02, 10, 23, 36, 39, and 49.
Timblin bought his ticket at the Barton Citgo, 1516 N. Main Street in West Bend.
“Awesome announcement,” said Citgo owner Scott Sadownikow when told the winner stepped forward.
For the past few weeks since the lottery confirmed the Citgo sold a $3 million winning ticket, Sadownikow said they had been bombarded with pseudo winners and questions.
“There was all kinds of people coming in claiming they won but most were just joking,” he said. “I thought we’d hear from the Lottery eventually.”
Clerks at the Citgo have been fielding questions daily regarding the winner’s name.
“It’s still exciting and it’s the talk of the store,” Sadownikow said. “With customers coming in and asking and our lottery sales have increased since that sale and they’re just looking for a little bit of that luck.”
Timblin has chosen the cash option of $2.26 million as his prize. He purchased his winning ticket at Barton Citgo at 1516 North Main Street in West Bend. Retailers receive a 2% incentive of the winning ticket amount up to $100,000. Barton Citgo will receive $60,000 for selling the winning ticket.Â
Megabucks is Wisconsin’s own lotto game. Drawings take place every Wednesday and Saturday night. Currently, the Megabucks jackpot is estimated at $1 million for Wednesday night’s drawing.
