Winter weather advisory in effect for Washington Co. until 8 a.m. | By National Weather Service

Washington Co., WI – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory that includes 3-5 inches of snow.

According to the NWS a narrow band of moderate to heavy snow will move across central to east central Wisconsin after midnight. A widespread 3 to 5 inches of snowfall will be possible for the counties north of the Interstate 94 corridor.

Areas along and south of the Interstate 94 corridor are expected to receive a rain and snow mix, to mostly rain, causing snow accumulation around 1-2 inches to no snow accumulation closer to the Wisconsin and Illinois border.

The advisory is in effect until 8 a.m. Thursday.

Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 3 a.m. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 31. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

* WHAT…Snow expected. Snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches.

* WHERE…Portions of east central, south central and southeast Wisconsin.

* WHEN…Until 8 AM CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.
