Washington County, WI – Mother Nature followed the forecast from the National Weather Service and Washington County, WI received a coat of winter white today.  While motorists had mixed feelings about the snow, some neighbors saw beauty in the blanket that kicked off the season. The National Weather Service is predicting heavy snowfall after noon on Tuesday with the possibility of 6 to 9 inches of snow inland. A winter weather warning is in effect until 3 a.m. Wednesday, January 10.

Across Washington County, Wi the plows and salters have been out since early morning. A brine base was applied to the roads on Monday. As of 11 a.m. neighbors across Hartford, Kewaskum, Slinger, and Myra have received about an inch of heavy, wet snow.

The animals at Schmidt Century Farm are enjoying outdoor dining with a side order of snowflakes.

Heavy snow clings to berries and branches as snowfall is expected to continue through Tuesday evening.
