Wind damage in Washington County flips a chicken coop and knocks a picket out of a fence

March 8, 2017 – Washington Co., WI – High winds are having a heyday across Washington County.   Neighbors are submitting photos of damage. On S. Sixth Avenue in West Bend a picket was knocked clear out of a fence.

Gerald Shupe, who lives between Allenton and West Bend, had his 300-pound chicken coop rollover in the wind. “None of the birds were injured,” said Shupe.

 

At the West Bend Public Library they’re battening down the hatches and shifted the main entry to the west side of the building.

The National Weather Service said its high-wind warning should expire at 5 p.m.
