Wind chill advisory for Washington Co. and neighboring communities through Wednesday, January 17

West Bend, Wi – How cold is it? It’s so cold a shawl was placed around the 6-foot tall, 500-pound terra cotta warrior in the library of the West Bend Public Library.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind chill advisory for the following counties: Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Marquette, Green Lake, Sauk, Columbia, Iowa, Dane, Jefferson, Milwaukee, Lafayette, Green Rock, Walworth, Racine, and Kenosha.

According to the NWS:

WHAT…Very cold wind chills between 15 and 30 below zero today, then as low as 35 below zero tonight into Tuesday morning.

WHERE…Portions of east-central, south-central and southeast Wisconsin.

WHEN…Until 9 a.m. CST Wednesday.

IMPACTS…The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little s 30 minutes.
