February 14, 2021 – Washington County, WI – The wind chill on Valentine’s Day morning felt like a “rip your face off” type of cold.
While folks in the Midwest and Washington County are tough cookies… we are well aware of the threat of extremely cold conditions.
Below is a statement from the National Weather Service.
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of east central Wisconsin, south central Wisconsin and southeast Wisconsin. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Wind chills this morning between -25 and -35. Brief improvement in wind chills this afternoon, but will drop between -20 and -35 tonight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday Bitter cold temperatures and wind chills are expected again Monday morning and are possible Monday night into Tuesday morning. Chance for lake effect snow mainly Monday night into Tuesday morning for areas along Lake Michigan. Additional chances for snow later in the week.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
A wind chill advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. If you must go outside, make sure you cover all exposed skin with the proper winter attire.
