WBW varsity volleyball downs Suns in 3 out of 4 sets | By Paige Guse

October 6, 2021 – West Bend, WI – The West Bend West Spartans defeated their hallway rivals the East Suns with scores of 25 – 23, 20 – 25, 25 – 19,  26 – 24.
The game was very intense. Both teams had very high stakes since they share the same school.
After coming out strong in the first set and winning, the Spartans lost the second set. The Spartans came out strong from that loss, winning the next two sets and taking the match.
The rival teams fought hard, but West came out on top winning in 4 sets.

Leading the team was Leah Nagel with 11 kills, followed by Isabelle Sternig with 10 kills.  Rory Griffin had 4 ace serves out of 21 attempts. Paige Guse had an incredible passing game with a personal high of 18 digs, along with Kylee Altendorf with 14 digs. Kelsey Corbett had 24 assists and Isabelle Sternig had 17.

About the Author: Paige Guse is a Freshman at West Bend West. She plays DS and outside hitter for the volleyball team, and is going to play basketball and softball.
