September 2, 2023 – Glendale, WI – The West Bend West Varsity volleyball team claimed victory over the Nicolet Knights in four sets.
The Spartans came out strong in the first set with a score of 25- 16. Kylee Altendorf and Maddie Abel were a dynamic duo in this set.
Altendorf was getting kills left and right with Maddie Abel’s assists. The Spartans encountered hardships during the second set and unfortunately lost 20-25.
However, they started to build momentum in the third set with the help of Libero Emy Miller, winning 25- 15.
The Spartans dominated in the fourth set, coming out victorious with a final score of 25- 10.
Kylee Altendorf led the team with 17 kills and 14 digs. Maddie Abel had 42 assists and 5 ace serves. Lindsay Sandleback had 9 kills and 14 digs. Breleigh Ustruck had 6 kills, 4 ace serves and 10 digs.
West is now 1-0 in the North Shore Conference. The Spartans next home game is September 7, against Homestead with a start time of 7 p.m.
