West Bend West suffers tough loss against Grafton | By Maddie Abel and Emy Miller

September 21, 2023 – West Bend, WI – West Bend West played a home match against the Grafton and the Spartans lost the first two sets 25-22 and 25-18 but the team fought back to win the third set 24 – 14, however ended up losing the fourth set to Grafton 25-23.

The team fought hard with Kylee Altendorf leading with 17 kills, followed by Lindsay Sandleback with 12 kills.

Emy Miller played a tough defense with 26 digs and Sandleback had 25 digs. Maddie Abel continued to work the offense with 38 assists for the night.

The Spartans are 4 – 1 in the North Shore Conference and 11 – 11 overall.

The Spartans play at the Sprawl on Friday night at 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. at the West Bend High School.

About the Authors: Emy Miller is a Sophomore at West Bend West. She has been playing volleyball since second grade and is a libero. Her favorite subject in school is chemistry.

Maddie Abel is a junior and a setter on the team at West Bend West. She has been playing volleyball since she was 10 years old and wants to be an actuary or an accountant.
