Experience and composure help West Bend West varsity volleyball secure solid win | By Melanie Wedin

October 14, 2020 – West Bend, WI – The West Bend West Lady Spartans varsity volleyball team started the match strong against the West Bend East Suns. Great momentum and energy carried through to winning 25-19, 25-19, 15-25, 25-21.

The Lady Spartans size in the front row was a big factor in the match and blocking was an important part of our win.  East came back and played a very aggressive third set taking the match to a fourth set.

The Lady Spartans were able to regroup and pull out a fourth match win as the team leaned into its experience, composure, and ability to perform under pressure.

West Bend West volleyball varsity

Leading the way was Makenna Kappler with 11 kills and Leah Nagel with 6 kills. Jada Slagle finished with 35 digs, Natalie Mesko had 5 blocks and Isabelle Sterning came through with 12 assists.

The West Bend West Lady Spartans are 3 – 1 in the WIAA North Shore Conference.
