West Bend Police respond to OWIs, retail theft, and military artillery round on personal property | By West Bend Police Dept.

07/09/24 – At 12:31 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle leave the roadway and travel onto the Badger School track and field area. The vehicle turned around and drove around a squad car with emergency lights and siren activated. The vehicle crossed Main Street and sustained two flat tires when striking a curb on 3rd Avenue. The vehicle came to a stop and the 29-year-old female driver was found to be intoxicated with a PBT result of .123%. The woman was placed in jail for 2nd offense operating while impaired and fleeing/eluding.
07/10/24 – At 6:56 p.m. a resident in the 300 block W. Paradise Drive found what looked to be a 1940’s era tank round in the foundation of the garage walls he was rebuilding. Milwaukee County Bomb Squad responded and confirmed it was a military artillery round. The object was removed by the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad.
07/13/24 – At 5:22 p.m. Walmart Loss Prevention reported a retail theft with a 47-year-old male suspect leaving the store with a cartful of merchandise. A pursuit was initiated and went northbound on Highway 45. The man exited Highway 45 at the northbound on-ramp at Washington Street, driving the wrong way down the ramp and then went southbound on Highway 45. The man left Highway 45 at 18th Avenue driving down the hill and through the barrier fence continuing southbound on 18th Avenue. Due to the identity of the man being known and concern for others the pursuit was terminated. Temporary Felony Warrants for Retail Theft and Fleeing have been entered for the man.
07/14/24 – At 11:53 a.m. A 41-year-old man was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be intoxicated. The man failed field sobriety testing and had a .13% PBT result. The man was placed in jail for 6th offense operating while impaired, operating after revocation, IID violation and bail jumping.
