West Bend Police make numerous arrests following retail thefts at Walmart and a burglary reported on Progress Drive

Jan. 6, 2017 – West Bend, WI – West Bend Police make a number of arrests following retail thefts from Wal-Mart.

THEFT BY FRAUD / BAIL JUMPING – 1500 Block of West Paradise drive
On January 5, 2017, at 11:04 a.m., Walmart reported two male subjects attempting to fraudulently return merchandise they had just selected in the store, concealed in bags, and were attempting to pass as purchased items. Both men were located and taken into custody. One of the subjects was found to be out on bail for a criminal case of Burglary. A Newburg man, 20, was arrested for theft. A West Bend man, 20, was arrested for Theft and Bail Jumping. Both subjects were placed in jail.

RETAIL THEFT – 1500 Block of West Paradise Drive
On January 5, 2017, at 11:09 a.m., Walmart reported a female subject stealing clothing and other items from the store. The woman was located and the property recovered. The West Bend woman, 42, was cited for Retail Theft.

RETAIL THEFT  – 1500 Block of West Paradise drive
On January 5, 2017, at 10:04 AM, Walmart reported two male subjects had stolen numerous items of merchandise from the store and were fleeing the area in a waiting vehicle occupied by two females. The vehicle was stopped and the stolen merchandise, valued in excess of $700, was recovered. Two Milwaukee men in their 20s were arrested for Felony Retail Theft and placed in jail. A Milwaukee woman, 34, and her 15-year-olddaughter were cited for Party to the Crime of Retail Theft and released

BURGLARY – 100 Block of West Progress Drive
On January 5, 2017, at 3:26 PM, an area business reported that sometime overnight the closed business was forcibly entered through a locked service door and several locked offices were forcibly entered and rummaged through. The business is conducting an inventory to determine the extent of the loss.
