FLEEING AN OFFICER / OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER
1500 Block of west Paradise Drive
On 08/20/16, at 2:28 AM, Officers observed a vehicle parked in the Wal Mart parking lot. The registered owner of the vehicle had two Felony warrants for his arrest. When officers attempted to make contact with the occupants the driver provided a false name. An officer was able to correctly identify the driver as Alexander T. Zarins, 21, from Appleton. He was wanted on Felony warrants in Winnebago County for Bail Jumping, Resisting an Officer, and Possession of Marijuana.

Officers then attempted to take Alexander Zarins into custody. At this time Mr. Zarins drove out of the parking lot at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle southbound on USH 45 to Pleasant Valley Road, where it exited the highway. Mr. Zarins then drove through several stop signs on Pleasant Valley Road before stopping his vehicle in the middle of the road and fleeing on foot. The vehicle rolled backwards down the roadway with the driver’s door open and struck two West Bend Police vehicles causing damage to both vehicles.

An 18-year-old Appleton woman was a passenger in the vehicle and stayed in the vehicle after Mr. Zarins fled. She was not injured and after questioning was released.

Alexander Zarins is currently being sought by the West Bend Police Department on charges of Fleeing/Eluding an Officer, Resisting/Obstructing an Officer, and Felony Bail Jumping. Alexander Zarins is a white male, 6’1” tall, 145lbs, Brown hair and Hazel eyes. Anyone with information of the whereabouts of Alexander Zarins is being asked to contact the West Bend Police Department at (262) 335-5000
