August 27, 2024 – Slinger, Wi – Drinking, drugs, and video gaming at his parents were apparently what preceded an incident where a West Bend man, 21, is alleged to have caused $12,400 in damage at Slinger High School on July 22, 2024. The criminal complaint is below.
According to the criminal complaint, charges of felony burglary and felony criminal damage to property (over $2,500) were filed against William R. Schwind of West Bend, WI.

The case will be heard in Judge James Muehlbauer’s court. An initial appearance is set for October 7, 2024, at 8:15 a.m.
According to Slinger Police the case began when neighbors heard breaking glass near the football field. Further investigation found the press box was damaged. Days later police also found damage at Brendan’s Park off Lous Way.
After publishing photos of the suspect’s vehicle, Slinger police said the young man turned himself in July 25, 2024, in connection with the vandalism at the high school and Brendan’s Park.
According to the criminal complaint the suspect turned himself in after recognizing his mom’s Ford Focus in photos from the Slinger PD. Â Schwind told authorities he did not recall anything from that night because he “began drinking alcohol and smoking Delta 8 while playing his Play Station 2.”
Slinger superintendent Jim Curler said the damage at the school totaled about $12,400.
According to the courts, unless a judgment of conviction is entered, the defendant is presumed innocent of all charges.

August 19, 2024 – Slinger, Wi – The Washington County District Attorney is expected to file charges today against a 21-year-old man alleged to have damaged the press box on the football field at Slinger High School on July 22, 2024.
Charges were forwarded to the D.A. as police and the school district look at burglary and criminal damage to property. According to Slinger superintendent Jim Curler about $12,000 in damage was caused at the school.
Police also found damage at Brendan’s Park located off Lous Way.
Slinger police say the young man turned himself in July 25, 2024, in connection with the vandalism at the high school and Brendan’s Park.

July 24, 2024 – Slinger, WI – Slinger Police are making headway as they work to identify the person responsible for vandalizing the press box at the Slinger High School football field. On Wednesday, more vandalism came to light as the school district notified police the same vehicle tied to the high school vandalism also was at Brendan’s Park located off Lous Way.
According to Detective David Dudash said the same vehicle “drove over the grass at the Village Park.”
“After the person in the vehicle was at the high school he drove over to the park next to the Middle School and tore up the grass, circling in the parking lot over and over,” said Dudash.
Police released images of the vehicle which is a white Ford Fusion. The distinction is a sunroof and missing front license plate and front plate bracket.
Police said the vehicle was at Slinger High School at 12:30 a.m. and then the Middle School around 1:15 a.m. on July 22, 2024.
Aside from the photos of the suspect’s vehicle, police also collected blood from the scene of the vandalism at the high school football field where windows were broken in the press box.
“The physical evidence we collected was blood, taken to the crime lab,” said Dudash. “The suspect(s) suffered some type of sever cut/laceration causing moderate blood loss at the scene.”

July 23, 2024 – Slinger, Wi – Slinger police are submitting physical evidence for testing regarding the investigation into vandalism at the announcer booth at Slinger High School.
Detective David Dudash said the Slinger P.D. is fielding multiple tips regarding a vehicle spotted at the scene. “We do encourage anonymous tips,” he said.
Sometime overnight, July 21, 2024 -July 22, 2024, unknown person(s) vandalized the Slinger High School announcer booth causing several thousands of dollars in damage.
The actor(s) injured themselves in doing so and may be in need of medical help for their injuries from this event.
Police said they started getting calls around 12:20 a.m. – 12:40 a.m. about hearing “glass breaking.”
Police said they knew someone was injured because there was “lots of blood, lots of blood” at the scene.
