August 14, 2017 – West Bend, WI – The West Bend Police Department made the following two arrests for OWI between Thursday, Aug. 10 and Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017.
OWI /HIT AND RUN
3100 W. Washington St.
On August 10, 2017, at 6:49 PM, West Bend Police investigated a vehicle crash in the parking lot of Shell West where the driver left the scene. West Bend Officers located the driver in the 800 Block of Villa Park Dr. and identified him as a 27-year-old West Bend resident. The investigating officer observed signs the male was intoxicated. He failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .189% into a PBT, and was arrested for OWI and Hit and Run.
OWI /VEHICLE CRASH
S. Seventh Ave. at Walnut St.
On August 13, 2017, at 2:06 a.m., West Bend Police investigated a vehicle crash on S. Seventh Ave. at Walnut St. and determined that a 26-year-old West Bend man was driving and looked down at his phone when he struck a parked vehicle. The investigating officer observed signs the male was intoxicated. He failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .109% into a PBT, and was arrested for OWI and Inattentive Driving.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT/RESISTING AN OFFICER
500 Block S. Seventh Ave.
On Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017 at 1 a.m., West Bend Police were called by a home owner in the 500 Block S. 7th Ave. for a man kicking on a back door of the residence. The caller did not know the man or why he was at the back door. West Bend Officers located a male who appeared to be intoxicated, refused to identify himself and refused to comply with the officer’s directions. When the officers were taking the man in to custody, he resisted their attempts to place handcuffs on him. Officer’s identified the male as a 43-year-old from Milwaukee. The man was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting an Officer. The officers and the suspect were not injured.
