April 26, 2024 – Cedarburg, WI – An update on a story from Friday afternoon regarding a high-speed chase that started in the Town of Trenton and ended in a crash in Cedarburg, WI. Police took a 25-year-old West Bend, WI, man into custody. Cedarburg Police provided the update below.

April 26, 2024 – Ozaukee Co., WI – A 25-year-old West Bend, Wi is in custody following a high-speed chase that started around 1:30 p.m. in the Town of Trenton. Authorities said an officer from the Town of Trenton did a U-turn after a vehicle passed him going about 78 miles per hour.
The initial traffic stop was made at CTH NN and Church Road. The officer was instructed to take the person into custody and that’s when the driver reportedly took off.

A crash occurred at STH 60 and CTH I. Law enforcement is on scene in neighboring Ozaukee County as the intersection at STH 60 and CTH I is closed.
The crash is a result of a pursuit initiated by the Trenton Police Department. The Cedarburg Police Department is handling the crash investigation since it occurred in their jurisdiction.
The driver of the vehicle took off after the crash but has been taken into custody by Trenton Police.
The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office had limited involvement with this incident other than providing traffic control and assisting with accident reconstruction.
As of 3 p.m. westbound traffic on Hwy 60 has been rerouted at Keup Road and eastbound traffic on Hwy 60 is being rerouted at 5 Corners.
