I had a really good day today. My goal was to place in the top 20 for Giant Slalom and I got 14th. There were 48 competitors in this event but more than half were on an Alpine Board which is a hard boot.
They have a huge advantage in racing with that set up. They are so fast.
Those were the demo boards I tried earlier this week so maybe if I switch gear next year I will have a better chance for top 10.
In Wisconsin we had a icy season for training so the fresh powder from the storm yesterday put a little more drag on my board which can slow you down.
Snow and temperature definitely plays a part.
Overall a lot of fun especially when you hear where your competition is from. A few I remember today were from Italy, Alaska, Maine, New York, California and even Texas.
A great experience and hope today is another good day on the Slalom course.
