West Bend East defeated Hartford in the opening match of the conference season on Tuesday at West Bend. Drama was high at the two singles and one doubles positions. East won at both spots, but required three sets to do so. At one doubles seniors and captains Ben Johnson and Andrew Steiner fought through a second set slump to close out the match in decisive fashion, while Colton Harris had to come back from down 5-3 in the third set tiebreak. Hartford picked up their win at four singles, where Kevin Kreuser won in two solid sets.
