West Bend, WI – There’s a sweaty buzz of activity going on inside the new West Bend Dairy Queen as contractors, management, and the son of the owner hustle to put the finishing touches on the store before the July 15 opening.
Stuart Scheunemann, 12, is the official behind-the-scenes tour guide. He offered a sneak peek of the new store, 1043 S. Main Street.
Stuart’s sneak peek of the interior lasted about a hot second. “You’ll have to come back July 15 …,” he teased. A quick glimpse showed the video menu screens in place along with cake freezers and cash registers were still being hooked up. On-site interviews are also being conducted.
Outside Stuart pointed out the signature giant red DQ spoon and the clever red spoon door handles. There’s also outdoor seating for 15 to 20 people underneath a pergola with a fancy retractable roof.
To the north of the building is designated parking for drive-thru customers and Stuart pointed out the DQ logos. “We can’t wait to see you at the new West Bend Dairy Queen,” he said.
