November 21, 2020 – West Bend, WI – West Bend Children’s Theatre has received one of the Federally funded state cultural organization grants. A total of $15 million in COVID-19 Cultural Organization Grants has been awarded to 385 cultural organizations across Wisconsin including West Bend Children’s Theatre, Inc.
This grant addresses quality-of-life issues in the State of Wisconsin having an impact on 132 communities and 52 counties. The grant was awarded on a competitive basis not first come, first serve basis.
“It helps us immensely in being be able to continue offering scholarships to the local high school students in a time when we are not receiving revenue (ticket sales),” said the Theatre’s Terri Kramer.
By receiving this grant, West Bend Children’s Theatre, which started in 1933 by the West Bend Women’s Club, is proud to be able to continue its’ tradition of awarding scholarships to high school seniors in West Bend and Kewaskum and to continue offering an annual quality, live children’s production at the West Bend High Schools.
