Obituary | Former West Bend alderman John (Jack) Schneiberg, 82

November 19, 2024 West Bend, Wi – John (Jack) A. Schneiberg, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was born on December 17, 1941, to Arthur and Mildred (nee Kilb) Schneiberg.

Jack was raised in Elm Grove and Cedarburg until 1951 when they settled on Browns Lake in Burlington, where his parents owned and operated the Colonial Club for the next 13 years. Lake life began his passion for wooden boats, a hobby that would last a lifetime.

Jack graduated from Burlington Highschool in 1960 and attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. His early career in accounting was focused in the auto industry, which included traveling the United States for Chrysler for 3 years and a longstanding relationship with the Ennis family at Frontier Auto.

In the early 80’s Jack started Schneiberg & Associates in the basement of his home, which grew to his first office in Barton, and eventually evolved to a new office building with “River East” in the late 1990’s.

He also served West Bend’s 7th district as Alderman for 10 years and served on a variety of non-profit boards over the course of his life.

Jack was united in marriage with Janet in 1964 and built their home on Barbie Drive in West Bend in 1967, where they resided and raised their 4 children for 32 years. He took great pride in all of his children and their families and received joy from being in their daily lives.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception church for many years. In recent years you could find him greeting you at the welcome desk of Kettlebrook Church, where he strengthened his faith and relationship with God.

Jack enjoyed traveling, photography, jazz music, playing Hammond organs (by ear), and articulating his thoughts in written words. He loved classic cars, and being a member of a classic car club where he showed off his 1969 Chrysler Imperial.

His love for wooden boats sparked a passion for antique boat restoration which involved him in many boat clubs and chapters. He formed great friendships while serving as a member and official for the Century Boat Club.

Jack is survived by his four children, Kelly (Kurt) Eschenfelder, Scott (Jeanne) Schneiberg, Kristen (Jerry) Hardy, and Kim (Chuck) Minney; 13 grandchildren, Megan (Keith), Lindsey, Alex (Anna), Johnny (Beth), Max (Laiken), Julie, Nathan, Sophie, Jack, Ethan, Cole, Gavin, and Emma; 3 great grandchildren, Lucy, Tyler, Claire, and another due in spring; brother Tom (Kathy) Schneiberg; former wife of 38 years, mother of his four children, Janet (Schneiberg) Gagan. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mildred, sister Jill (Ed) Carney, in-laws Martin and Jean Schmitz, and sister-in-law Tricia Light.

A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be on Friday, November 22, 2024, with visitation and service at Kettlebrook Church (2378 W. Washington St., West Bend, WI 53090). Visitation is 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., with service to follow at 5 p.m., Pastor Troy Loether officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Kettlebrook Church, or The American Heart Association.
