Washington Co., WI – Concerned about a change in your We Energy rate – today is your last day to weigh in. We Energies customers can expect to see higher utility bills in 2024, according to proposals submitted to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.
“Wisconsin Electric Power Co. and Wisconsin Gas LLC (doing business as We Energies) filed a proposal on April 28, 2022, with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to set 2023 rates for electric, natural gas, and steam utility operations.” – We Energies
We Energies is proposing a 1.6% residential rate increase.
The rate changes are to cover new investments in infrastructure such as renewable energy.
We Energies customers comments regarding the proposed rate increase will be accepted through the end of the day today, Oct. 16, 2023.
The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) criticizes the request to increase rates, saying profits for We Energies have been too high for too long, with customers paying the price.

So the solar farms are expensive and you ordered panels from China that cannot get through customs…..so the farms are left major eye sours!!
We lose power with every little breeze for hours!! With no credit for lost coverage! I feel we are already paying enough!
Kenosha County.
Please, no rate increase. We, the poor and elderly are drowning in bills. I am always cold. I can’t keep the heat set at a warm enough temperature for me cause I can’t afford the bill. In the summer I keep the air conditioner at 82 degrees because I can’t afford the electric bill.
I am at a point, like many seniors, where there is a finite amount of money each month to cover the bills and the other expenses of being alive.
Thank God for Energy Assistance!
The Public Service Commission is just an extension of We energy and all utility companies . Where is the tax incentive for installing a clear renewable energy saving wood burning stove for heating and cooking ? Seems to me instead of giving the utility more money to buy up farm land for solar farms they can give back to the consumers for wood burning stove installations . Tell me , why not !
You are cheating ,the public and not paying your workers a decent salary.. You have the public over a barrel we have to pay or get no service. You have no concern for senior citizens, poor people, single mothers nor people with disabilities. Shame on you!
It’s a shame people in poverty already, now have to worry about prices going higher.
Everything we get a little raise on disability all the bills go up.
I get 25 dollars for food share for 2 people a month. They tell us to go to food banks. Half the food you get is outdated or molds within a day.
Keep robbing people of their money. So sad!
