WBW falls to Whitefish Bay in 5 | By Amelia Dubey

West Bend, WI – The West Bend West volleyball varsity team played its final conference against Whitefish Bay and lost in a tough 5-set battle.

West started the first set victoriously with intense energy and a score of 25-18. In the second set West continued this energy and won 28-18.
During these sets West had exceptionally good defense from Emy Miller with 23 digs and Paige Guse 16 digs. The third set was a hard fight, but tough loss for West with a score of 25-20.
As the fourth set started it was an intense fight as both teams had exceptional teamwork and hustle, but in the end Whitefish Bay won in a close fight of 25-23.
When the fifth set started you could tell how much both teams wanted this win. The gym was very intense with great digs and kills from both teams eagerly trying to win.
In the end West lost the difficult battle 15 – 13.

Credit Laila Hertel for her amazing job during these games on the outside with 15 kills.  Emmalee Heniadis had a season high 21 kills.

Maddie Abel had 36 assists.
Thursday starts regional games against Menasha with a home match at 7 p.m..
