The West Bend East boys tennis team finished its 2016 season on Wednesday at the sectional in Oconomowoc.
Doubles players Andrew Steiner and Ben Johnson and singles player Alby Loro all ran into competition from powerhouse Middleton in the first round and lost in their first and only match of the day.
They end their senior years as members of the first team all conference team and as team conference champions. They will be greatly missed!
The bright spot for East on Wednesday was found in the No. 3 doubles team of sophomores Hunter Lemler and Brock Albiero. After losing their first match to Middleton, the pair rebounded nicely to defeat a Waunakee team and take third place.
The future is bright for the pair, and for an East tennis team which returns 7 of 10 varsity players next year.
