Feb. 12, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – A couple of drunk driving arrests to note over the weekend:
On Sunday morning at 12:16 a.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s office received a call reporting a dark colored Ford Explorer “all over the road” swerving across both lanes of traffic southbound on I41 from STH 28.
Deputies were able to stop the vehicle near CTH K after also observing erratic driving. Deputies also noted indicators of intoxication and asked the driver, identified as a 27-year-old rural Campbellsport man, to submit to field sobriety testing.
The man advised he was willing to complete the standardized field sobriety tests on scene, but later advised he was cold and requested the fields be completed somewhere warmer.
Deputies conveyed the driver to a local fire station where the driver then refused to complete any testing or provide a breath sample into a PBT.
The driver successfully stalled the inevitable while simultaneously demonstrating we try to accommodate; he was taken into custody for operating while intoxicated 1st offense. He was turned over to the jail for a 12- hour hold.
5th offense drunk driving:
