Nov. 15, 2016 – West Bend, WI – Washington County is excited to announce Jamie Ludovic will be appointed Central Services Director, assuming the role previously held by Jay Shambeau as Planning and Parks Administrator.

Ludovic, formerly the Assistant to the County Administrator, has spent the past several weeks serving as the Interim Planning and Parks Administrator where she has been developing a recommendation for how to best fill the vacancy left by the departure of Jay Shambeau to the City of West Bend.

“I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work alongside the strong team of County employees in the Planning and Parks department,” said Ludovic. “I am grateful for the opportunity and am looking forward to getting to work.”

According to Ludovic’s recommendation, the newly created Central Services Director will assume division oversight responsibilities in the Planning and Parks Department. As such, the following divisions will now report to this position: golf, parks, planning, land use, land and water conservation and facilities. In addition, this recommendation informally creates a communication division.

According to Ludovic, “Communication is becoming an increasingly important and necessary component of any organization, particularly the public sector, as citizen expectations continually evolve. This recommendation increases this focus area so we can continue to build trust and credibility with the citizens of Washington County.”

According to Public Works Committee Chairperson John Bulawa, bringing Ludovic to the Planning and Parks Department is a smart move.

“Jamie already understands how County Government functions and brings administrative experience with her to lead the Department. I am very pleased that we will have an increased focus on communicating information more effectively moving forward. Jamie is a hard-working and dedicated person and I am pleased to work with her as part of the Public Works team,” added Bulawa.

“I am very excited about this new opportunity, specifically the chance to better integrate communication across and throughout our organization and our County, as well as meshing our planning efforts up and down the organization,” said County Administrator Joshua Schoemann.
Ludovic holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and a Master’s of Public Administration from Northern Illinois University. Ludovic brings supervisory experience to the position, having served in management positions in various communities, including some in the states of Illinois, North Carolina and Wisconsin.

Ludovic is currently a member of the West Bend noon Kiwanis, International City/County Management Association and Wisconsin City/County Management Association.
