Warrior Hikers: Burgers and Big Hearts

Warrior Hikers Michael Maziarka, a West Bend native, and Miles Vining are now approximately 30 miles northeast of Merrill. Last night they landed at Fisher’s Bar and Cabin Rental and found food and refuge from the heavy rains heading their way. After chatting with the locals who were inquisitive about their Ice Age Trail trek, Kris and Jim from Parrish, WI, offered shelter, a guest bedroom and a huge country-style breakfast of eggs and homemade biscuits and gravy. Maziarka stated that everywhere they go they are met with Wisconsinite hospitality and folks like Kris and Jim who have “big hearts.”
