October 15, 2020 – Village of Kewaskum, WI – Within the next few days a wall mural depicting the natural fabric of the Kettle Moraine will be completed in the Village of Kewaskum.
Katie Markeland is one of the organizers of the project.
“We are painting a mural on the wall of the building located at 143 Main St, Kewaskum,” she said.
“This mural started October 14, 2020 and will be completed by Tuesday, October 20. This mural is being done to bring some cheerful color to our community for everyone to enjoy. It’s right along the Eisenbahn trail so lots of people will be able to view it.”
Markeland credited volunteers with helping prime the wall.
“We wanted something that was very Kewaskum with prairie, plants and flowers,” she said.
Artist Irineo Medina from the Fox Cities started working on the project this week.
Medina is familiar with the area as he worked on an abstract project on the south wall of West Bend Tap + Tavern in West Bend.
The artwork is just to the west of the Eisenbahn State Trail off Highway 28 and Main Street.
