Slinger, WI – Two cross country runners from Slinger High School are looking for your votes as Wisconsin Performer of the Week (Sept. 9-14) at the website Wi.MileSplit.com
Ava Dziedzic was the runner-up in the Matt Sadler Invitational where she finished in a time of 18 minutes 29.40 seconds.
Reed Grotenhuis of Slinger won the Matt Hadler Invitational in a time of 15 minutes 53 seconds.

As of Tuesday night, Grotenhuis held a strong lead in the polls and Dziedzic was looking for support as she was in second place behind Katie Rea of Wauwatosa East.
In 2023 the Slinger girls cross country team won the WIAA Division 1 state title.
The girls were led by Piper Schuster, Livvy Helmle, Violet Schultheis, Ava Dziedzic, Stella Gruendemann, Shayla Hill, and Bailey Schmoldt. The alternates on the team were Kelsey Vollmar, Hannah Becker, Lauren Osborn, Shannon Meyer, and Gretchen Nelson.

In 2023 Grotenhuis, finished 32nd at state. It was his sophomore year and Grotenhuis finished with a time of at 16:23.5.
