VIDEO | Winter weather reminder to slow down when passing emergency vehicles | By Ozaukee Co. Sheriff

Ozaukee/Washington Co., Wi – Winter weather is approaching, and the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning which remains in effect from Tuesday morning through late Tuesday evening. The Ozaukee County Sheriffs are reminding motorists to slow down and move over when emergency vehicles are passing. The video below shows an incident when the deputy was on the side of the road assisting a vehicle when another vehicle lost control, stuck the squad car, and travelled into the ditch line.

The incident happened in 2021 and the deputy was only inches away from being struck by the vehicle, but thankfully he was not injured. The driver of the vehicle was cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control and Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
