Washington Co., WI – The 2019 United Way of Washington County fundraising campaign begins this week. On Thursday more than 500 volunteers will gather at Washington County Fair Park for a food-packaging event.
“The 2019 fundraising campaign is a way the community can come together to help local nonprofits that really need our support,” said United Way executive director Kristin Bradner. “This week’s packaging event is our first step in the campaign and we will be putting together over 80,000 meals of soup that will be distributed to nonprofit organizations throughout Washington County.”
Bradner said the food packaging is a way to build awareness around food insecurities in the area. “We’ve done the food packaging before and it’s been brought back by popular demand,” she said. “It’s a fun event that really benefits the community.”
On a side note: Below is the effort it took to get to the polished video above. ie…. it’s the blooper reel and you don’t want to miss it. Enjoy.
The next awareness event on tap is Walk United on Saturday, October 19.
