VIDEO | Jordan Stolz skates 1000m at 7 p.m. at ISU World Cup at Pettit National Ice Center

Milwaukee, Wi – Dressed in his dark blue race suit speed skater Jordan Stolz took a couple of relaxed laps at the Pettit National Ice Center as fans started to filter in for the opening night of the ISU World Cup in Milwaukee.

Stolz is the primary draw this weekend as he has set the speed skating world on fire with consistent record times that are drawing international attention.

Friday night, Stolz skates the 1000m race. He is the 10th pair in the lineup skating against teammate Cooper McLeod.

Stolz holds the current 1000m track record of 1:07.12 and has the World Record with a time of 1:05.37.

On his heels tonight will be Dutch skater Jenning De Boo whose personal best in the 1000m is 1:06.05. De Boo finished with the silver last weekend in Calgary just .02 seconds behind Stolz.

In Calgary, Stolz notched his 18th straight win and set another track record in the 1000m at the Olympic Oval with a time of 1:05.90.

On a side note: Olympic gold medalists Dan Jansen and Bonnie Blair have been spotted at the Pettit.

“I saw Jordan in the parking lot when I was coming in,” said Jansen. “To see another actual Phenom come along is really special; he’s so be fun to watch as he goes toward next year (2026 Winter Olympics). I mean he’s a once in a generation for sure, that’s how good he is.”

  • Stolz has won 19 straight gold medals so far this World Cup season. The record for straight first-place finishes is 23.

Milwaukee, WI – Fans from Washington County, Wi will be cheering on their hometown hero this weekend as Jordan Stolz is one of 300 skaters from around the world participating in the ISU World Cup at the Pettit National Ice Center.
Stolz met with the media on Thursday afternoon and fielded questions about his track records, the 19-race win streak, and how it feels to prep for the Winter Olympics in 2026.

The World Cup begins Friday afternoon as doors open at 4 p.m. and racing gets underway at 5 p.m.  Tickets have sold out for Saturday and Sunday.

Stolz will participate in the 1000m race on Friday. He holds the current track record of 1:07.12. Stolz holds the World Record in the 1000m with a time of 1:05.37.

He will race in the 1500m on Saturday and the 500m on Sunday.

Stolz record in the 1500m is 1.42.319, which he set in the US Championships in October 2023.

Stolz holds the record in the 500m at the Pettit. He beat South Korean skater Jun-Ho Kim’s track record of 34.59 in 2022. Stolz crossed the finish with a time of 34.55. Stolz’s personal best is 33.69 seconds in the 500m.

Aside from Olympic gold skaters in attendance at the Pettit this weekend there will be local Olympians including Eric Heiden, Dan Jansen, Shani Davis, Bonnie Blair, and rumor has it boxer Jake Paul may also be in attendance as his girlfriend is Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam.
