VIDEO | Stolz prepped to defend track records as ISU World Cup opens at Pettit National Ice Center

Milwaukee, WI – Fans from Washington County, Wi will be cheering on their hometown hero this weekend as Jordan Stolz is one of 300 skaters from around the world participating in the ISU World Cup at the Pettit National Ice Center.
Stolz met with the media on Thursday afternoon and fielded questions about his track records, the 19-race win streak, and how it feels to prep for the Winter Olympics in 2026.

The World Cup begins Friday afternoon as doors open at 4 p.m. and racing gets underway at 5 p.m.  Tickets have sold out for Saturday and Sunday.

Stolz will participate in the 1000m race on Friday. He holds the current track record of 1:07.12. Stolz holds the World Record in the 1000m with a time of 1:05.37.

He will race in the 1500m on Saturday and the 500m on Sunday.

Stolz record in the 1500m is 1.42.319, which he set in the US Championships in October 2023.

Stolz holds the record in the 500m at the Pettit. He beat South Korean skater Jun-Ho Kim’s track record of 34.59 in 2022. Stolz crossed the finish with a time of 34.55. Stolz’s personal best is 33.69 seconds in the 500m.

Aside from Olympic gold skaters in attendance at the Pettit this weekend there will be local Olympians including Eric Heiden, Dan Jansen, Shani Davis, Bonnie Blair, and rumor has it boxer Jake Paul may also be in attendance as his girlfriend is Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam.
