March 24, 2020 – Big Cedar Lake, WI – Here at Century Farmhouse, as all around the globe, we are stepping back from our daily lives into new normal routines that are hopefully both short-lived and healthy. Our preparations and worry about family and friends both near and far can make the days seem heavy, don’t you think?
I treasure the privilege of being able to step outside for deep breaths of nature, and today I decided to take a little jaunt to the Back Forty – a field with a pretty pond and the pussy willows I was sure were peeking their fuzzy heads out of winter branches. Come along, why don’t you?
The sun popped out from behind the clouds by the time I reached the farmhouse with a handful of red dogwood branches and pussy willow twigs. There’s no time like the present to finish projects, especially since I had nowhere else to be today.
Watch as I trim last year’s spring wreath with just a few of the twigs to make a fresh and interesting new wreath for my door. Maybe this will inspire you to create something simple and pretty with the things you have on hand right now.
