Chairs filled up fast on the lower level as families got prime seating for the brief ceremony which included entertainment by West Bend High School students. They played bells and sang. A welcome was presented by Froedtert West Bend Hospital President Allen Ericson, followed by remarks from Ann Johnson, director of Froedtert Hospital Foundation, and Debra McCann, executive director of Patient Care Services.
During the choir’s singing of Silent Night, the lights were dimmed inside and three trees were lit outside in the courtyard.
According to Froedtert West Bend Hospital: Proceeds from the Love Light Tree allow Partners to fund three annual scholarships for local high school students pursuing health care careers and support Froedtert West Bend Hospital.
A special thanks to Amy and Scott Schmidt from Schmidt Funeral Home; they sponsored a light for my father, Aloysius Steffes.
