Dec. 27, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Crews from Poblocki Sign Company are in downtown West Bend working to remove the iconic West Bend Theatre sign.
Carl Haase is an installer with Poblocki Sign Company. He said the sign will be removed in two pieces. It will be transported to the Poblocki shop for electrical, carpentry and painting.
The reinstallation of both the sign and marquee is slated for this summer.
There are 235 bulbs on each face of the sign, for a total of 470. That doesn’t include the bulbs on the marquee.
The new bulbs will all be LED for conservation purposes.
Earlier Thursday morning another crew was on hand to remove the canopy. That will also be replaced.
