Milwaukee, WI – The next generation of speed skaters took to the ice, some for the first time, and participated in the ‘Skate with an Olympian’ event over the weekend at the Pettit National Ice Center.
The free event was initiated by Dirk Stolz, father of Olympian Jordan Stolz. “We started skating as a family and I thought it would be nice to encourage others to try the sport,” he said.

About 20 kids took part and put the Olympians through a good test as they taught the kids about balance, pushing off and gliding.
The Pettit National Ice Center stepped up and provided the skate rental for free for kids and families.

On a side note: When these twins are 10 years old and Jordan Stolz has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, this will be quite the memory from when they were just a couple weeks old.
