October 25, 2020 – Washington Co., WI – There’s something to be said for a weather forecast that is spot on.
The National Weather Service predicted “scattered light rain and snow showers likely 3 p.m. this Sunday afternoon” and just like that the light snow arrived on cue.
Allan Kieckhafer called just after 3:30 p.m. to report his grandsons, Ames and Kenny, were fishing on the north end of Big Cedar Lake. “And it started to snow and they just stayed out there,” he said.
The grandkids were out with their father Adam Kieckhafer, the band director at Slinger High School.
Allan laughed at the circumstances. “I’ve never been out here when grandchildren and great grandchildren are out fishing in the snow. Eventually they came in because they said it was pertty cold,” he said.
Kieckhafer has a home on the north end of Big Cedar Lake. “It’s where Paradise Drive goes into the water,” he said. “One of the boys did catch a fish…. and that’s my news for the day.”
