Feb. 28, 2017 – Kewaskum, WI – Students from Kewaskum High School used some of the tools they learned in the Main Street Philanthropy class to raise money for victims of the Braatz Drive apartment fire. The Feb. 10 fire severely damaged the building and contents.
Students in the course learned about volunteering their time, fundraising, investing and learning about charity work.
At the conclusion of the course various student groups presented donations to select organizations. A total of $2,474.76 was donated The Threshold, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Kewaskum Food Pantry, American Legion Kewaskum and the fire victims.
