Jan. 11, 2017 – Jackson, WI – An emotional day of giving this week at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson as students and staff presented gifts to three families in need; it’s the culmination of their effort 12 Days of Christmas.
The recipients include the Craig family of West Bend whose home was damaged by fire last September. The Poehlman family who lost their father/husband Matt Poehlman who died unexpectedly in his sleep at age 42 and the family of Kellyn Weber.
Kellyn is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor, her husband Bryan is battling diabetes, and their 8-year-old daughter Elis is working with juvenile arthritis.
Through a generous all-school effort, the students and staff and local businesses were able to pass along more than $30,000 to help the families.
“I like to tell people, you can burn down my house but you can’t take away my joy,” said Jim Craig. “Because I have Jesus Christ and so do you if you know him as your Savior.”
Debbie Poehlman was overcome with emotion and so was Kellyn Weber who told gathering, “I can’t say enough for all that you’ve done and the fact I graduated from here makes me even more proud.”
