Sept. 1, 2018 – West Bend, WI – The ice-install process is underway at the Kettle Moraine Ice Center (KMIC) in West Bend. The process involves spraying thin layers of water.
Brandon Bayer, general manager at the KMIC. “The total thickness of the ice is going to be 1-and-a-quarter inches. Each layer we’re spraying down is roughly 1/64th of an inch,” he said.
The Kettle Moraine Ice Center is owned and operated by the Washington County Youth Hockey Association.
This is the 29th year in business for the ice center which is home to the Washington County Youth Hockey Association, the Kettle Moraine Figure Skating Club, the WIAA Germantown Ice Bears, the Washington County Adult Hockey League, and the West Bend Bombers.
