September 30, 2022 – Hartford, WI – Folks in Hartford, WI rolled out the welcome mat and the traditional orange ribbon to welcome United Way of Washington County to its new home at 35 Sell Street.
The local non-profit hopped across Highway 60, swapping spaces with ACS.

Local dignitaries on hand included city administrator Steve Volkert, alderman Dennis Hegy, Tom Hostad with Hartford Area Development Corp. and the grand dame of the United Way of Washington County Barbara Hurula who led the organization for 15 years from
“We’re happy to be back in the Hartford community,” said United Way CEO Kristin Brandner. “It’s very exciting and our purpose for being in Hartford is to serve the community.”
United Way of Washington County first moved to Hartford in 2013. It will be sharing the building with ADRC of Washington County.
“We know there are not enough services for people in the Hartford community such as transpiration and serving seniors with disabilities,” said Brandner.
I could not have said it better than, “Barbara is the Grand Dame of United Way”. I worked closely with her for 10 years and learned much from her example. Rita Sorensen
