April 20, 2020 – West Bend, WI – A very special window-birthday celebration that would have never been expected a century ago. The family of Alice surprised her with a song and gifts with the help of Cedar Community.
“Alice has a love of family, a strong faith and a great sense of humor,” said daughter-in-law Barbara Schemenauer.
Dressed in a purple sash, red wrist corsage and birthday crown Alice was wheeled to a window at Cedar Bay East to see her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alice was one of seven children. She and her brother, 96, are the only ones left.
Alice got married at St. Anne Cathedral in Milwaukee. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini in West Bend.
Alice was treated to cupcakes and balloons and $100 in scratch-off lottery tickets.
