February 24, 2020 – West Bend, WI – The Milwaukee Brewers opened spring training in Phoenix with a 7-2 loss to the Padres on Sunday.
Baseball fans in West Bend were able to get some insight on the team’s trades and season outlook as General Manager David Stearns made a recent appearance in West Bend.
Stearns took questions from the audience and talked about creating an “aggressive pitching staff” and gave his thoughts on the proposed automated strike zone.
Stearns, 35, began by outlining his career from a student at Harvard University, to interning with the Pittsburgh Pirates and then climbing the ladder in Major League Baseball from the N.Y. Mets, to the Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros and now the Milwaukee Brewers.
Stearns participated in an hour-long appearance organized by Emerging Leaders and the United Way of Washington County.
