One of the best turnouts ever Monday night as the Boltonville Fire Department held its annual open house. Families took part in a number of hands-on activities, including the popular fire extinguisher test.
Firefighter Keith taught the kids to pull the pin, aim, squeeze the trigger and sweep.
Boltonville firefighters manned the open house and took photos of the kids sitting in the fire trucks, gave them a primer on CPR and helped them with a scavenger hunt. The lower level of the firehouse was filled with exhibits, raffles and food including hot dogs, sloppy joes, chips, soda and desserts.
On Wednesday the Village of Jackson Fire Department hosts its open house, Saturday there’s an open house for the West Bend Fire Department and Sunday the Allenton Fire Department teams with St. Lawrence F.D. to host a pancake breakfast and open house.
October is National Fire Prevention Month.
