West Bend, WI – The team at Auto Safety Center in West Bend managed to pay it forward twice, with one event as the locally owned auto repair shop purchased 155 boxes of Girl Scout cookies and then turn around and donated the cookies to residents at Cedar Community.
“This is our second year doing the Girl Scout Cookie drive for Cedar Community,” said Joe Valind, owner of Auto Safety Center. “We’re thankful for all the Girl Scouts that came in and all the cookies we bought this year. Today we’re pleased to donate them to Cedar Community.”
Mike Hilzey from Auto Safety Center put the scouts through their paces before making the purchase. “Thanks to the parents for bringing the girls to the shop,” he said. “But we weren’t a pushover; the girls had to give their speech and sell it.”
Hilzey said a lot of the girls were going to use the money they raised to go horseback riding at camp and another groups was going to use their money for a scuba diving trip.
The staff at Cedar Community handed out the cookies to residents. A welcomed treat.
