West Bend, WI – American Companies in West Bend has been named the August Business of the Month.
“We are super proud to be nominated West Bend’s Business of the Month,” said the team at American Companies.
Kons Sadownikow, 77, of West Bend founded the company, which at the time was called West Bend American Building Systems.
An immigrant, Sadownikow came to the U.S. in 1951. “We engineered steel buildings that I sold and I put West Bend in front of the name because I intended to have several franchises,” he said.
Sadownikow hired his son Kraig and changed the name of the business, currently American Companies.
The senior Sadownikow is now retired, 39 years after starting the business. “It wasn’t easy but I don’t think anything that turns out well is ever easy,” he said.
To solidify his legacy and recognize Sadownikow’s achievement of the ‘American Dream’ the City of West Bend proclaimed Dec. 21, 2017 as Konstantyn Sadownikow Day.
